The term therblig is used to describe a unit time and motion in the study of workplace efficiency.

This thesis calls for a toolkit of tactical devices that operate in relation to time and motion (i.e. volatility). These infrastructural instruments called Therbligs are designed for local stakeholders to trigger a chain of actions and reactions: causing breaches, deconstructing levees, doubling flow capacity, coupling programs and infrastructure, forming eddies, controlling sedimentation, filtering runoff, catalyzing new business opportunities, and expanding tourism activities.
